Two years...
| After two years pass everyone else has gone back to their lives, and realistically this is how it should be. But for the parents of a child who has died, life will never again be the same as it was. We cannot wish it that way, and nothing we do changes the fact that the life we once knew and loved is gone. But we will never forget and, for Steve and I at least one time per year we decided that we would honor Cori's life by reminding people of how short this life is and how every day we have a choice-to smile or to frown. Cori's choice was to smile. And on the 2nd anniversary of her death, followed the next day by what would have been her 6th birthday we gave money to several coffee shops around our town and a stack of the cards below. Everyone who came that day would receive their drinks and a card- explaining why their drink was free. |
